Marcel Garvey crossed for a brace of tries in the first half as Worcester dominated their Romanian visitors, who played half the game with 14 men.

The Wolves had four players yellow carded during the game as their hosts' win pushes them back to within four points of the Paris side at the summit.

Worcester meet Stade Francais in France in their last game of the Challenge Cup league stage.

Toulon 36-10 Newcastle
Stade Félix Mayol

Toulon made light work of the Falcons in the late fixture on Saturday, leap-frogging their rival English visitors to now lead Pool 2 by two points with two rounds remaining in Europe.

It was a dominant performance by a Top 14 line-up that included Jonny Wilkinson, Alexis Palisson, Mathieu Bastareaud, Carl Hayman and Steffon Armitage, but the five-pointers came via different sources as Geoffroy Messina, Christian Loamanu (2), Eifion Lewis-Roberts and David Smith crossed. Newcastle's only try came from centre Corne Uys.

In the other fixtures taking place on Saturday, Perpignan moved above Exeter at the Pool 4 summit after edging Cavalieri Prato 30-13. Lyon salvaged some pride in the tournament as they backed up their 31-16 success of last weekend with a 43-3 victory over Petrarca in Italy.
