McCall praises Sale and Cipriani

Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall admitted he was relieved to come away with the points after his side beat Sale 24-19 on Saturday.

The visitors to Allianz Park were impressive and went in 6-13 up at the break as lively duo Danny Cipriani and Rob Miller troubled the scorers.

But Saracens managed to recover in the second-half and got over the line through Jack Wilson and George Kruis, with the result keeping them top.

"Give Sale a lot of credit. They made us work very hard for it," McCall informed Saracens' website.

"We weren't at our best in the first half and we gave them some points. We had much more energy and dominated the second half but they made us battle for everything we've got.

"The Premiership is very competitive and Sale made us fight for everything today.

"Danny Cipriani had a good game at No.10 for them, and controlled things very well - we're glad to come way with the win today."
