Easy Pisi: Saints win

Saracens had their five-game winning streak in the Premiership ended in emphatic style on Saturday as Saints won 41-20 at Franklin's Gardens.

The result cuts Sarries' lead at the top of the table to just a single point as the Saints scored an impressive six tries; securing the win and the bonus point.

Both sides were without a few of their England internationals going into the game but the first half belonged to Saints who scored two unanswered tries to take a impressive eleven-point lead into the break.

The home side's dominance continued in the second-half as they completed the win scoring four further tries, Saracens got two tries back of their own but failed to really get going and ever really put the home side under any sort of pressure.

Stephen Myler and Alex Goode traded penalties in the opening ten minutes before the opening try of the afternoon came after twelve minutes when Saints winger Jamie Elliott received a good offload to score, Myler converted to make it 10-3.

David Strettle and Goode both threatened for the Saracens but it would be the Saints to score again through American, Samu Manoa who wrong footed Goode to score under the posts, Myler converted before Goode struck back with a penalty on the verge half time, 17-6.

The second-half started off with things going from bad to worse for Sarries starting when Saints full-back Ben Foden scored a fantastic pair of well worked tries, Myler failed to convert the first but nailed the second to put the home side well clear at 29-6.

Sarries briefly had a foothold in the game when Duncan Taylor went over and Goode converted but just three minutes later the saints were back in full control when George Pisi took advantage of a misjudged catch from Goode to feed Luther Burrell to score. Myler comfortably added the extras and yet again it was a long way back yet again for Saracens at 36-13.

Kelly Brown pulled a try back again for the away side with ten minutes to go with Goode converting yet again but the home side issued an instance response yet again with Pisi this time the scorer crashing over with little time remaining to make the win safe and sound despite Myler missing the conversion.
