Still at Sale: Bryan Redpath

Sale have rubbished BBC reports they have sacked director of rugby Bryan Redpath following a run of seven defeats in the Aviva Premiership.

The Sharks have won just one game this season - which came in the Heineken Cup against Cardiff Blues - but domestically they are without a victory.

And with the arrival of former Lions boss John Mitchell over recent weeks, former Scotland scrum-half Redpath's future had been in doubt.

Redpath's reported departure follows that of forwards coach Steve Scott, who left following Round Four's 29-19 defeat to London Welsh.

However, in a twist to the story, Sale's head of media and PR Dave Swanton tweeted: "Don't know where the media got that from but can confirm Brush is STILL employed by Sale."

A club statement was then released, saying: "Sale Sharks would like to place on record that Bryan Redpath has NOT been dismissed by the club."

Sale face London Irish in Salford on Friday.

Hehe he he John Mitchell he he he out of the frying pan into the fire. So true IrishZimbabwean no room for anyone else with John Michell's ego in town lol. Thats why he never took over The Fijian coaching job as there is no room for another dictator in Fiji.

By the way once John is installed as the new dictator, sorry coach, of Sale could I ask David Swanton if there is any truth in the rumour that moves are being made to make room for Robbie Deans to join the Staff once he is sacked as Australian Coach following the Northern tour?

I'm with Irishzimbabwean, Mitchell doesn't like sharing the spotlight and regardless of the shenanigans getting Redpath there if he is not delivering someone like Steve Diamond is not going to keep him around. If they are intending to keep him they will not want to pay him a full director of rugby salary I'd have thought if Mitchell is taking charge.

melkdave - John Mitchell will want to run his own show. There will be not be enough room for Redpath. Watch this space!

Iwould be very surprised if Redpath has been sacked, given the amount of manovering ect involved in getting him.Tgis is more to do with the reorganisation in the coaching staff i feel to accommadate J.Mitchel
