2015... RWC... New England coach... Mallender didn't want it this time round because england are nowhere near the finished article, You wait and see how many coaches come out the woodwork in 4 years time when players like Lawes, Cole and Tuilagi will be in their prime. I hope the fact that Lancaster stood up and took the job on in the lean times counts for something in 4 years time. the rats who legged it from the sinking ship should have their lightweight opportunitistic characters taken into account at the job interview.... Jimbo.

NH Saints Bit sensitive there aren't you. I like Mallinder but he hasn't quite done it has he. He has plenty of time, but still a lot to prove. My guess is that he didn't go for the England job because in his own mind he hadn't yet achieved what he wanted to achieve at Saints. Just a few nuts and bolts missing before he gets it right, but they'll be up there next season. You admit that in attack they haven't quite made it, very true thats where they are missing something, somehow in attack they just don't gel.

this club needs a man with hair -- call in the mallet - he has the hair to get the job done

@pierredelot1 to say he hasn't developed a great team (bearing in mind the great low profile signings he makes every year and with very limited funds) isn't exactly fair. What he does need is a good attack coach/advisor so the Saints can really get what they're capable of.

Jim malander terific coach and Man with a club that has a soul and is a proper Rugby Club and celibrates all that is good in the game as do all the towns and citys that bare the name of their team.

Northampton were not out played in the smi final Harlquins were for the most part haning on and with fortune won the game as if Ryan lamb had linked with another the game would have been out of site. The try was eventually a good un and were was Brown.(Fodens replacement ?)

Both Leicester and Northampton fielded mostly a second team for the first 6 to 8 games so both Midland teams can be ,the first Leicester will have no trouble puting Quins in their place (said with sadness as a Saints fan)

As a Saints fan this is good news. He has done a lot with the cub but I feel that there is still some unfinished business.

My main concern is that we haven't signed any quality players yet to cover those who are leaving. This needs to change soon, and Saints need to develope a winning mentality in order for the club to achieve success.

Well deserved, maybe after the end of this contract he will have developed his skills to a higher level. This Northampton side has not quite hit it's blocks this season and were outplayed by Harlequins in their semifinal, which I felt that they never really got on top of. Many were calling for Jim for the England job, but surely he has to prove himself at Northampton before he can go on to bigger things. He has brought on and developed some great players, but still not a great team.
