Hot streak: Christian Wade

England winger Christian Wade scored a double as London Wasps won 32-30 away at Kingsholm against struggling Gloucester.

Wade's efforts along with Nathan Hughes and Guy Thompson saw Wasps claim their first win at Kingsholm since 2009.

Shaun Knight, Sione Kalamafoni and two scores from Rob Cook ensured that Gloucester however earned two losing bonus points.

Wasps dominated the opening stages and winger Wade demonstrated his lightning pace as he gathered the ball on halfway, before seeing off the challenge of Cook to touch down from 50 metres out.

Andy Goode slotted the extras and the visitors were further ahead soon after as Hughes executed a one on one on the blind-side after a poor scrum by Gloucester in their own 22.

Goode kicked the conversion once again before a Freddie Burns penalty finally got Gloucester on the scoreboard.

The Cherry and Whites grew in confidence and they reduced Wasps' lead to just four points with a bizarre try, as Knight touched down after an outrageous flick from the boot of Andy Hazell.

Burns made it a seven-point play with the conversion before Goode kicked a penalty minutes before the break to give Wasps a seven-point lead.

Gloucester flew out of the blocks in the second half and they scored with a move straight from the training ground as Kalamafoni trundled over the try-line from a smart lineout move.

Centre Ryan Mills thought he had put Gloucester in front as he fought off the tackle of Carlo Festuccia to barge up to the try-line, but the TMO ruled that he failed to ground the ball.

Burns and Goode traded penalty kicks as the game ticked into the final quarter as Wasps clung on to their two point advantage.

England fly-half Burns then rattled the posts with a penalty attempt eight minutes from time but Gloucester were alert to the rebound and Cook crossed over the whitewash to put the host back in front.

But Wasps regained the lead almost immediately from the restart as replacement Jimmy Cowan fumbled the ball to allow Thompson to run in his side's third try.

Goode nailed the conversion and Wasps finally closed the game out as Wade evaded a number of tackles to touch down for his second try of the match, securing a vital bonus point for the visitors.

Cook had the final say on matters as he touched down, which Burns duly converted, with the final play of the match to earn Nigel Davies' men two points.
