Wasps have been hit by a sizeable blow after it emerged that wing Tom Varndell has ruptured his bicep and will out of action for up to four months.
Clinical finisher Varndell sustained the injury in training and will have an operation this week.
Wasps will also be without back-row Rory Pitman, who suffered significant ankle ligament damage playing in an A league game on Monday and he will also require surgery. He is also likely to be ruled out of action for three to four months.
Meanwhile, captain Chris Bell is expected to be in contention for the trip to Exeter this week, while lock Kearnan Myall should be back next week.
Hugo Southwell, James Bailey, James Haskell, Phil Swainston and Elliot Daly are unlikely to play in September but are making good progress.
