I don't understand how Hamilton got the same ban as Paice. Seems a lazy judgement to me.... Paice clearly started it, on both occasions. Hamilton should've known better, but still.

Have to agree Paice was the instigator of round 2.
Didn't the committee look at the video?

The ban should be longer to act as a detterent to other idiots who wish to make a fool of themselves. Paice should not have gone anywhere near hamilton after the sin binning (this makes him the instigator in my opinion). The no 8 for Irish should have been in the dock for his cheap shots on Hamilton. Very cowardly act by a so called rugby player. Again have a look at the clip and make a judgement for yourselves.

What about the others involved? Whilst most of it was handbags and minor fisticuffs, Treviranus (sp?) threw some hard punches, some to an unsighted opponent.
I agree that 7 weeks seems very harsh, considering they both got red cards. But they certainly deserved bans.

It's ridiculous someone can get punished for defending themsevles. What are you meant to do if someone starts throwing punches at you... politely ask them to stop? Even more ridiculous is that both of these guys are getting a similar punishment to eye gouging.
