Leicester full-back Mathew Tait could make his first appearance for the club this season against Saracens at Allianz Park.

Tait has been sidelines for seven months with an ankle injury but played a prominent role when Leicester sealed last season's Aviva Premiership title.

Having been loaned out to Championship side Nottingham last weekend in order to regain his match-fitness, Tait played 42 minutes and could now be in contention for selection.

The 27-year-old former England international has found his feet at Leicester and director of rugby Richard Cockerill hinted he would be picked to play.

"We will rest some guys and rotate the squad a bit," Cockerill told the Leicester Mercury.

"It has been two very tough weeks in Europe, certainly in the forward pack.

"Mat Tait played for Nottingham last week and he will come into consideration for Saracens. There is a good chance he will be involved."

Fly-half Toby Flood is a fitness concern for Leicester but prop Logovi'i Mulipola and back-rower Steve Mafi will both in contention in the not too distant future.

"Logo will probably be fit for the Sale or Bath games, while Steve Mafi will be back in the country this weekend," added Cockerill.
