You can always buy a WC medal with all that cash you sold your soul for nick... or maybe not. Never mind bro I too am gutted I turned my back on the AB jersey for the piss and skirts... but then we'd never heard of Daniel Carter otherwise

Nick Evans is the one that got away, in terms of New Zealand rugby... the fact that he has been playing well for Harlequins over the last four seasons does not surprise me in the least. He was always sufficiently good enough to cover the outside half or fullback positions at international level..... would he have been selected for the last RWC had he been eligible? Of course he would have been selected! His unfortunate personal memory will be the 2007 RWC match at the Millennium Stadium.... when NZ lost the match and he limped off with an injury.

I am sure the award is well deserved but lets face it he will look at it in the cabinet in the years to come and I am sure will wonder how the WC winners medal would looked in its place. Like many things in life I guess we all sometimes wonder what if ???

Nick Evans would've always been no2 n10 to DC but that goes for anyone else in the world. I believe he would make the ABs as a very strong replacement fly half. Above Cruden. And I'm a chiefs supporter. Cruden is still growing. But this scenario will never happen anyway. That aside. Nick Evans has clearly enjoyed his rugby in the NH. and he's been great to watch.

me and my mate were sat in the living room watching Quins the other day and at the same time turned to each other and said 'Evans is the best player in the premiership by some way'. Schalk Brits would be next I would have thought and then I'd be tempted to go for Tonga'huia

@pierredelot1, considering that it's in the NH that he both lives and plies his trade, it's not really too surprising that the recognition comes from the NH. Don't be under any misapprehensions that people in NZ do not recognise how good he is. He always was and regardless of some peoples comments, he would undoubtedly have been backup to Dan Carter for the RWC had he not been tempted north.....

The best No10 in the Northern Hemisphere, but then still not quite up to the Dan Carter level (But who will be) I get the feeling that he gets more appreciation and recognition here than at home.
