Gloucester captain Jim Hamilton will leave the club at the end of the season to join Top 14 side Montpellier, according to reports.
Hamilton was named Gloucester captain this season and his impressive form has put him in contention for an outside shot at the Lions tour to Australia in 2013.
Despite still having a year remaining on his contract, Hamilton is believed to be closing in on a three-year deal with Montpellier, with Parisian club Racing Métro being the main rivals for his signature according to the Gloucester Citizen.
The 30-year-old joined Gloucester in 2010 from Edinburgh, having previously played in the Premiership with Leicester Tigers.
Capped 41 times by Scotland, Hamilton has played an important role so far in Nigel Davies' reign at Gloucester this season, with the club now set to look for an adequate replacement.
Montpellier have also been linked in recent days with talismanic Perpignan prop Nicolas Mas.

He's obviously aware of what Nigel does to his second row forwards!
