Easy does it: Jonny May celebrates scoring his second Gloucester try

Jonny May and Olly Morgan both notched up two tries as Gloucester recorded a comfortable 39-10 win over Wasps at Kingsholm.

The Cherry and Whites got out of the blocks quickly and only five minutes were on the clock when captain Luke Narraway went over in the corner after an excellent catch and drive by the forwards from an attacking line-out.

The home side were enjoying the lion share of possession and they added a second try before the quarter of an hour mark through winger Jonny May after a superb attack from deep which used the full width of the Kingsholm pitch.

Wasps did hit back though midway through the first half.

The Londoners went through a number of phases inside the opposition twenty-two before England Under-20 international centre Elliot Daly crashed over to score.

Gloucester went straight back on the attack though and, after being denied on several occasions by some resolute Wasps defence, Jonny May added his second try of the day to take full advantage of a turnover in a perfect attacking position.

Fly-half Nicky Robinson did slot over a penalty right on the stroke of half-time to give the scoreline an air of respectability at 19-10 at the break. However, it was all one-way traffic in the second half.

After Freddie Burns kicked an early penalty, Henry Trinder beat Joe Simpson to the ball inside the in-goal area to touch down and extend the lead to 27-10.

Wasps' hearts seemed to visibly sink as, despite there still being half an hour left to play, the comeback looked to be beyond them.

And so it proved as full-back Olly Morgan scored two smartly-taken tries in the space of three minutes before the hour mark to make it 39-10, sealing the win and condemning the London side to their seventh Premiership defeat of the season already.
