Two tries: Niko Matawalu

Glasgow moved top of the RaboDirect PRO12 table thanks to an impressive 29-13 home win over Cardiff Blues.

The home side began brightly and struck first as Peter Horne stepped inside a defender and had the pace to cross the whitewash after quarter of an hour but they weren't ahead for long as Josh Navidi forced his way over to level the scores ten minutes later.

And two penalties from 19-year-old fly-half to just one from his opposite number Duncan Weir gave the visitors a 13-10 lead at the break.

The match exploded into action midway through the second-half though as the Warriors came up with three tries in the space of just eight minutes to take the game away from the visitors and secure the bonus point.

Fijian scrum-half Niko Matawalu was the catalyst and he got the ball rolling with a great individual try, regathering his own long kick before touching the ball down.

After a period of concerted pressure on the opposition line, Weir then spotted a gap and crossed for the third try and Matawalu fittingly rounded things off with a typically smart effort with quarter of an hour remaining.

Cardiff Blues failed to register a single point in an extremely disappointing second-half for them but Glasgow were worthy winners and march to the summit of the RaboDirect PRO12 after a seventh consecutive victory.

Yeah well deserved Glasgow. They've played some good rugby this season and JD good wins. Don't forget they have huge injury problems as well as a small budget. Most didn't fancy their chances when Lineen left and Townsend appeared but they certainly have a great "club" spirit which you can see on the field..

Have to admit it ios nice to see a scottish team top of the league.Perhaps because its just so rare.I cant even remember when last a scottish team was leading the Pro12 or Celtic league even .Question is can Glasgow keep it up and actually win the Pro12 title .Now that would do wonders for scottish rugby.

Great Stuff....

Knock Ulster off top spot for the 1st time this season. Something like their 8th victory in a row, 4 of those with bonus points, good crowds (by Scottish Standards),

This is great for the League and more importantly Scottish rugby, So I for one will be disappointed if Glasgow are not 1st in the Whats Hot Section this week :-).
