Take on the Tipster

25th September 2009 15:07

Sale celebrate Tigers success

Smiles set for Sale this Saturday

Domestic action continues throughout world rugby this coming weekend and as leagues near differing junctures, it's just another day for the Tipster.

Our man with the stats and odds was on-target with his 'Banker' last Saturday as the Sharks defeated the Cheetahs by more than 8 points.

But unfortunately it was a case of a Magners League trio upsetting his predictions for the big payout - Ulster, Cardiff Blues and Glasgow hang your heads in shame after Round Three defeat.

And so to the impending round of action...

Southern fixtures are of course beginning to grow in importance in the Air NZ Cup and Currie Cup, where the latter's battle for play-off positions continues to heat up.

Meanwhile in the ever-cooling north, clubs and provinces will be fighting tooth and nail for any scrap of an early advantage over their 2009/10 competition rivals.

The weekend's notable games in England come at the Recreation Ground and Madejski Stadium where Bath and London Irish take on Leicester and Wasps respectively in what are intriguing fixtures. But can the Tigers score a Guinness Premiership try?

Celtic action also provides its fair share of spice with a first Welsh derby of the season seeing the Scarlets travel to Cardiff looking to add to the Blues' woes.

So without further ado, let's take a look at what our anonymous man has for us then as Planet Rugby once again teams up with Sky Bet to pick out the best betting options on offer.

Banker of the week

It promises to be a cracking fixture at Sixways Stadium as two attacking outfits collide.

Looking if we may at the Warriors' poor away form following their most recent Guinness Premiership defeat to Wasps, I expect there to be a response on home soil against the Sharks. But will it be enough to get their season back on track? I think not.

The Sharks were upset by Bath last week but they are boosted by the return of Charlie Hodgson who will add stability to their gameplan in a result that will unbelievably see these two's last eight meetings won by the away side!

Get on Sale to beat Worcester!

Worth a punt

There is no doubt in my mind that Munster will emerge as title contenders in both Magners League and Heineken Cup when the knockout stages come knocking. But this Sunday they will come up against an outfit that have their tails up and frantically wagging.

Under the tutelage of Paul Turner, the Welsh region have upset Ulster and Glasgow in the opening three rounds and call me crazy, but I feel they might just take the swagger out of the Jean de Villiers debut parade at Musgrave Park...

Have a go on the Dragons this week!

Hail Mary

A plethora of games to choose from so let's go for a lucky thirteen in the hope of a big return.

Newcastle, Northampton, Worcester, Leicester, Wasps, Saracens, Ulster, Western Province, Blue Bulls, Lions, Brive, Perpignan, Racing-Métro

Stake - £5.00 = £BIG Return!

Anything take your fancy?
