New Oyonnax winger Yves Donguy admits it was an easy decision to join the club after seven years with Toulouse.
The 32-year-old arrived at Stade Charles Mathon this off-season, to help the club which narrowly beat the drop in their first season in the Top 14.
That followed a year in Toulouse where he barely featured for Guy Novès' side, with Yoann Huget, Maxime Médard, Vincent Clerc and Hosea Gear splitting most of the time on the wings.
And Donguy will have an early chance to catch up with his former teammates as Oyonnax travel to Toulouse for the opening round of the Top 14 season.
"I was motivated to start a new challenge. I met [coach] Christophe Urios who told me about the club's project," Donguy told Rugbyrama.
"It really interested me and I wanted a sporting challenge. That's what we focused on with Christophe, rather than a new start.
"It wasn't that difficult leaving because I knew I wasn't going to stay at Toulouse. I'd already started to prepare myself mentally to leave.
"We're in a sporting environment where one day or another, regardless of what has gone before, you will need to find a new challenge. I have some great memories of Toulouse, with the titles we won. The spirit within the squad is something else I will remember.
"Everyone at Oyonnax gets on well and tries to help each other. We've all had difficult times in other clubs. So we're helping each to progress and to help Oyonnax achieve our goals."
