Toulouse wing Hosea Gear looks set to leave the French club at the end of the season in favour of a return to his native New Zealand.
The All Black wing - who has 14 Test caps - is believed to be keen on competing for a place in New Zealand's 2015 World Cup squad, which would require him to play Super Rugby next year.
Gear has featured in 16 out of 17 games for Toulouse in the Top 14 this season but rumours of a departure which surfaced a few weeks ago have been given further weight, with RMC reporting that Gear will not take up the option for an extra year on his contract.
The 29-year-old arrived in the Ville Rose as a medical joker for the injured Vincent Clerc, who is fit again.
With Toulouse not short on wing options and Rene Ranger and Richard Kahui no longer in the running for the All Blacks, it's not surprising Gear is tempted to return home.
