Racing Métro boss Jacky Lorenzetti has confirmed that experienced Wales international scrum-half Mike Phillips has agreed to join the Top 14 club.
80-cap back Phillips was sacked by Bayonne in October of this year for allegedly arriving at a club video session under the influence of alcohol.
But the 31-year-old has been given an opportunity by Lorenzetti at Racing, with the club's president confirming the move at a press conference that was meant to discuss the construction of their new stadium, "The Arena 92", which has a roof.
Phillips is currently in the spotlight for the wrong reasons after video footage appeared to show him stamp on Australian Quade Cooper's hand.
He has signed a two-and-a-half year contract.
