Clermont s Australian fly half Brock James t14 2011

Brock James: Two drop goals

Clermont returned to the summit of the Top 14 standings on Saturday with a surprise 22-11 win over Racing Metro in Paris.

Clermont are now the only unbeaten team in France and the first to win at Racing's Stade Yves Du Manoir fortress this season.

A young Clermont side were rewarded for their enterprise while their hosts were penalised for their numerous errors.

Clearly the better side on the side, les Jaunards' defence was near-impenetrable.

Clermont led 10-6 at half-time thanks to a try from Kiwi centre Regan King and poor discipline from the Parisians.

Racing struck back through a try from South African loose forward Jacques Cronje but two drop goals from fly-half Brock James secured victory for Clermont.

The scorers:

For Racing Metro:
Try: Cronje
Pens: Germain 2

For Clermont:
Try: King
Cons: James
Pens: James 3
Drops: James 2
