Bath head coach Mike Ford praised Richard Lane after the winger bagged a hat-trick in his side's 55-8 hammering of Mogliano.
Lane touched down three times as Bath thumped their Italian Challenge Cup rivals away from home.
Ford was all the more pleased given the injury woes the 20-year-old flyer has suffered in the past two seasons.
"I'm really pleased for Richard, he's had a long time out with injury and there can be dark days," Ford told the Bath Chronicle.
"He's showed toughness.
"The ability to train every day when there's not a game at the end of the week for you can be hard.
"Just before his first try today he had some treatment for a creaky neck. In days gone by he might have stayed down for longer or come off, but he was tough and with his next touch scored a try. I was really pleased with his endeavour."
Bath had made a whopping thirteen personnel changes to the side that took on Exeter Chiefs in the Premiership a week ago, and Ford was delighted with the way the team played.
"Dominic Day and Ryan Caldwell were at times outstanding in the second row, and the competition for places is building," added Ford.
"We scored nine tries, got five points and - most importantly - had no injuries. We've kept that momentum going which is important with the A League Final coming up.
"We are a Premiership side with a higher salary cap than Mogliano so we would expect a result like the one we got.
"Mogliano defended with pride but when we put a string of phases together we either scored or looked dangerous, so that was pleasing."
