I think if Chabal were ref he'd still get sent off.

@ ArmchairGeneral - I though GJ was excellent in the match he ref'd in the Autumn. I wonder if or when we'll ever see Sebastien Chabal - didn't he have to go on a ref's course as a form of punishment once?

Would like to see Glen Jackson with more than just assistant for one game. Other than that APV1 has it covered.

My comments on the referees for the 6 Nations.

Wales v Ireland:

Ref: R Poite (Fr) - could be a lot better.

Ar's: J Peyper - an up and coming good ref. Gaurzere - never heard of.

England v Scotland

Ref: A Roland - undecided, has too many indifferent games - past sell by date.

AR's: J Garces - have only seen him once, ok, F Pastrana new so will have to see how he does but nice to see a ref from a small (rugby wise) country.

Italy v France

Ref: N Owens - can be good but otherwise mediocre (loves to talk!)

AR's - W.Barnes - Oh dear, L Hodges, don't know

I can't believe it a six nations for Wales without Barnes the clown, only trouble is I now feel sorry for the rest of the teams that have to suffer this muppet. I now have some belief for the season however misguided.

once upon a time i thought joubert was the best ref in the world. However after many dubious performances since the world cup final he his no where near the top. Ive been impressed by walsh and peyper and they are imo the two best refs in the world. That said im gutted joubert will be reffing the wales england game

good to see a referee from a nation outside the top tiers of international rugby, Francisco Pastrana (Uruguay) . Can't be easy getting noticed when from a country away from the top tier one, good luck to him. Maybe he refs in Argentina as well?

Last season a Japanese ref spent a few months in NZ doing club then representative?ITM Cup rugby, maybe one day we'll see him too at the top level.

England will win the 6N as Craig Joubert will hand them the match with France.

Go and punt before all the others realise.

APV1 says...

Oh good grief! I can't believe that we've got that bloke, whilst the other teams has that other chap.

And as for the Touchies, can you believe it?!

For those matches I wouldn't have any referees at all and would hope that some of the more reaonable posters on this site might step up. After-all, they know so much more, are far better qualified and would be so much better.
