We all know the U20 don't count. Aus have never won and yet have 2 RWC, Nz always win it and have ......... well ......2 !
Trader2:
Let us say Australia really takes rugby seriously, 100 years from now NZ will be at least 56 wins behind (could be more), but you might have another sport that you are competitive by then.
We wont be around, but our kids grandkids may be playing for the Wallabies.

Trinats, in all fairness the Australian team has some quality players, albeit mostly foreigners, but if you're hanging your hat on the same players who failed this time to win it next time then I think you're dreaming. Every country needs fresh, young, fitter, faster, smarter players to move forward and in that regard then sadly the Aussies are lacking somewhat.. look at the difference for all teams between world cups, 4 years is a long time. All those U20s player will be at their peak in 4 years, just ask South Africa.

In fact Trinats since the Wannabies last managed 2 wins on the trot against the AB's there have been 29 games played and your boys have won 7, thats a 76% losing percentage, pathetic really, so re my last post you have not even been competitive so will take that back.

Trinats you seem to be trolling against yourself here. In one post you say ¿Have a look at the results Aus V NZ when QC V SBW playing !!! Reason why Aus are Tri Nations Champions.¿ And then on the same blog ¿And who was missing when Austalia beat NZ to win the Tri nations ???? Money Bill !!!¿ (By the way how do you spell Australia?)
So as has already been pointed out by another scribe SBW has only played Australia twice, coming on as a sub both times, one of them in the WC semi and QC wasn¿t even playing. So what the hell are you on about? The fact is both times SBW played against the Wannabies (as a sub) the Wannabies got thumped. So according to you the only reason Australia won the Tri Nations was that SBW played against them for 20 mins or whatever in what was a 20-6 victory for the AB¿s. Now what was that about thinking before you open your mouth? Maybe this is what you mean by coming down to capecrusader¿s level. There are a few idiots on PR but they would struggle to compete with you so keep up the good work.
Now just remember the stats that matter in AB v Wannabie games:
143 games played, 97 won by the AB¿s and 5 drawn and what you should also know is that Australia¿s current 2nd ranking is down to the NZ actually agreeing to the AB¿s playing more test matches following a plea from the ARU in the 70¿s. (the B team used to come to Oz while the AB¿s were in SA) You have learnt pretty fast I must admit and after almost 40 years have a team that is almost competitive and every now and then has a purple patch and strings a couple of wins together. By my reckoning you need to win another 56 games to draw even with number of wins at 97, let us say a 3 test series each year and the odd WC clash so that should take the Wannabies about 18 years to win those 56 on the trot. Good luck.

You are kidding, Aus future ?
This very young Aussie side is here for a few RWCs. 2015 in the Bag (could be Wales in the final)

Of coure we're enjoying it. You know every time you make an anti-NZ comment it adds to the enjoyment factor just a little bit more. Thank you for that.
Probably wont see another WC here in NZ but I'm pretty confident we'll win another one again some time soon, we were 7 points from winning 5 U20 titles in the last 5 years, the quality is still coming through. Not sure what to think of Australia's future prospects, even you must admit to being sceptical?

Waldrom in this team - sorry, but he just makes too many mistakes for that level of honour! At least 3 players performed better than him at 8 last weekend.

You winning at home was like SA winnning in 1995 !!!
based on the "long wait" how long will you have to wait for another HOME rwc ??? 20 something years ??? Enjoy it now !!

Trinats, yes they have won 2 world cups and I cannot think of any reason to criticise them for winning either, nor would I criticise any world cup winning team. The problem with your argument however is that the most recent victory was nearly 13 years ago, and based on the form of the youngsters coming through you're going to have a long wait to win another, if they ever do. Winning Super rugby and 3N in World Cup year doesn't mean a lot.. trust me, NZ have done it every other time... in saying that though. each to their own but we all know which trophy looks best in the cabinet.

here we go again with excuses from @trinats on why his team lost, (always an excuse the other team cannot be the better team on that day)...hmmm so Pocock and Moore didnt play and that is part of the reason why Ire beat you last year...
Well Im pretty sure Nz missing some key players too; Carter, Nonu, Read, Kahui, Jane, McCaw(playing out of position and freakin dominated), Kaino, and had Cruden for 25 mins and still put on 60 points on the board.
as for Ire "nearly" winning...that still means losing and therefore means nothing otherwise how many times did Aus "nearly" lose to Wales?

@ Carpelone - I don't usually get too bothered by people reneging on bets, but when a charity misses out, that's just not on. And if anyone is in any doubt about the good work that The Wooden Spoon does, just have a quick look at their site. Your sarcasm is inappropriate and not appreciated in this case.
@ new_j4a - good on ya. My tenner's already in, as promised to gazzabok on another thread.

You Kiwis are funny, not only do you play to your own rules, you really do believe your own media.
"I'd imagine the entire world would consider the RWC a better indicator"
What the whole world knows is that NZ won the RWC at HOME again, and that France were a better team in the final !
But if it is the inidcator Aus 2 RWC (away from home) NZ 2 RWC with home advantage !!!!
tweedledee49:
More so the team that nearly beat NZ last week (Ire V Aus had a few more first choice players in there) and not the tired looking team this week. Also in that game Aus lost Pocock and Moore, just before Kick off.

Fairplay to the Reds, Trinats, they won the S15 and no excuses.
But I wouldn't consider the last years 3N much of an indicator, the reason Aus won was because both South Africa and NZ had weakened squads throughout..
I'd imagine the entire world would consider the RWC a better indicator. .. and Aus only came err 3rd.
And to consider your own comments..
"Aus and Reds have looked second best since Cooper's injury".
Errrr, even with Cooper Aus were only 3rd best.
"Think, if at all possible, before you open your mouth !!! "
Good advice, maybe try some yourself.
Just a question, what happened to the Aussie U20s this year, no imports? They belw out big time?

Anyone seen any posts from gazzabok recently? I'd like to know if he's paid up, or whether he's a charity-cheating scumbag...
"gazzabok says...
The English are delusional. That was't a competition once the Boks settled into the game.
Boks will win by 20+ tomorrow. If not, note this comment and I will donate 10 quid to Wooden Spoon.
Posted 13:12 15th June 2012"
I'm going to keep harassing the threads until they pay up. Firstly one shouldn't make such statements if you're not willing to put your money where your mouth is.
Then there's the matter of doing a (very worthwhile) charity out of promised funds. Added to which, another poster and I have agreed to match the £10 pledge once it's been paid, so gazzabok is potentially doing them out of even more, based on a flippant comment.
I have no doubt that gazzabok can afford to spare £10 and I'd like to know that they've paid up.
Ed - can you help track down the elusive gazzabok, as I've not seen any posts from them since their pledge? Thanks!
