Rupeni Caucaunibuca: second stint at Agen

Prolific try-scoring Fijian winger Rupeni Caucaunibuca is set to return to French rugby with a second stint at Agen.

The 34-year-old spent six seasons with the club between 2004 and 2010, twice finishing top try scorer in the ProD2.

One of the most outrageous talents the game has ever seen, 'Caucau' has a chequered history of off-field problems and is notorious for going AWOL at both club and national level.

He spent two years at Toulouse between 2010 and 2012 after being recruited as a "medical-joker" before briefly dropping out of the professional game.

The returned in 2014 with Northland in the ITM Cup but now looks set to revive his career with Agen, who were relegated from the Top 14 last season, having contacted the club directly himself last week

His return is, however, dependant on successfully completing a fitness Test.

"Last season was good for me, I had just come back from my knee injury," Caucau told ESPN.

"It was a good step for me to go to Northland. I enjoyed it there. At the moment I am looking forward, I am in good shape and I don't want to waste time. My time is going fast. I don't know how many years I have left to play rugby and I am here to work hard."
