Worcester Warriors boss Dean Ryan will coach the Barbarians ahead of their match against England on June 1.
Ryan has endured a tough season with Worcester, ending with their relegation to the Championship having won one match in the league all season.
The club described Ryan as "a man of proven rugby intellect, ability and character," in a tweet confirming his appointment on Tuesday.
Fourteen players have been named in the Barbarians squad for the match, with James O'Connor, Hosea Gear, Sitiveni Sivivatu, Rene Ranger and Matt Giteau included.
Drew Mitchell, Aurélien Rougerie, Francois Trinh-Duc and Jimmy Cowan are the other backs named in the squad.
French-based Steffon Armitage, Julien Bonnaire, Ali Williams, Carl Hayman and Ulster's John Afoa are the five forwards in the initial selection.
