Sergio Parisse Barbarians Nov 2011

Returning: Sergio Parisse

Sergio Parisse, Martin Castrogiovanni, Kahn Fotuali'i, Jaque Fourie and Imanol Harinordoquy will all play for the Barbarians this season.

The invitational side announced the first five names of their squad on Tuesday that will play the British & Irish Lions in Hong Kong and also against England at Twickenham.

Fotuali'i, hailed as one of the most exciting players in world rugby by the Barbarians, will turn out for the invitational side ahead of his move to Northampton Saints from the Ospreys.

Parisse, Harinordoquy and Castrogiovanni will all offer great Test experience in the pack, whilst 2007 Rugby World Cup winner Jaque Fourie will return to the international scene after playing in Japan.

More names are set to be added to the Barbarians squad in the coming weeks.

I'd have Samu Manoa and Jamie Cudmore in the 2nd row. I like the idea of Carlin Isles and Todd Clever along with some Canadians; perhaps the young wing playing in Glasgow. Why not get Taku Ngwenya in there as well?

Hey guys, why don't you leave it up to the Barbarians selectors to choose who is going to play in the Barbarians team?

Damn it! I thought he was still playing in Japan! Ok, change Brad Thorn for Bakkies Botha. An able replacement I think. :)

Also, you need an uncapped player.

Good call on Isles as the uncapped player though. :-)

Also, good call on SBW possibly getting a reminder of international rugby.

Parisse, Harinordoquy together! that is something amazing and can't wait to watch....about 3-4 years ago they were probably the most amazing n8 in the world.

I'd like to see a bit of Japan players as the game will be in Hong Kong, it could benefit Asian rugby. Saying that, it would be nice to see Todd Cleaver as a replaicement 8 and couple of Canadians and Argentinians as well. And why not SBW!?!

@TVaddict: very nice team, but i'd change Michalak with Brock James or Jonny Wilkinson if he doesn't get a place with the lions, and i'd add Gorgodze. Excuse my english.

For the chance to play against the lions I imagine a lot of stars will be interested in this. Especially countries not normally involved in the lions or those coming to the end of their career. Anyone got any predictions as to who the rest will be?

Maybe:

2) Schalk Brits/Keven Mealamu

3) Martin Castrogiovanni

4) Brad Thorn

5) Joe Tekori/Bakkies Botha

6) Imanol Harinordoquy

7) Akapusi Qera

8) Sergio Parisse

9) Kahn Fotuali'i

10) Frédéric Michalak

11) Shane Williams

12) Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu

13) Jaque Fourie

14) Bryan Habana

15) Mils Muliaina
