Scotland will head into the Wellington Sevens without their head coach Phil Greening after "personal issues" saw Stevie Gemmell take over the job.
Mystery surrounds the former England hooker's absence for the upcoming tournaments in New Zealand and Las Vegas, with the 37-year-old having only been named by Scotland in August.
"Phil Greening has some personal issues and we will be coming back to you in due course with some more information," SRU chief executive Mark Dodson told ur7s.com on Friday.
"Stevie Gemmell takes the team on the next leg."
