Brad Weber: Leads the same Waikato side that beat Wellington

Waikato coach Johnny Walters has named an unchanged matchday squad to take on Canterbury in Hamilton on Friday.

The squad of 22 has been rewarded for getting Waikato's season off to the perfect start with a bonus point win over Wellington but Walters is not dwelling on their week one effort.

"It was great to get a win on the board first up but we have been quick to put that behind us and shift our focus to this Friday," said Walters.

"We are committed to improving on our last performance and excited to play in front of our home crowd for the first time this year."

Meanwhile, Canterbury head coach Scott Robertson has made just two changes to his starting XV.

An injury to Tom Taylor's eye socket during the match against Auckland on Saturday night has ruled him out of contention.

This means that Rob Thompson will step into the inside centre spot and back Jack Goodhue has been pulled out of the wider training group to take a seat on the reserve bench and potentially earn his first Canterbury cap.

The other change is at lock, where Matt Symons will switch with Joel Everson for the starting spot.

The teams:
