Wyatt Crockett: Bolsters front row

Canterbury coach Tabai Matson has made three changes to his starting line-up for Saturday's ITM Cup semi-final against Taranaki in Christchurch.

The All Blacks have released prop Wyatt Crockett for the weekend, putting him in the number one jersey and Joe Moody on the bench.

Loose forwards Nasi Manu and Matt Todd are ruled out after picking up knee injuries in Canterbury's 63-22 win over Bay of Plenty last Sunday.

They will be replaced by Jed Brown at openside flanker and Luke Whitelock at number eight.

That also sees a reshuffle and some new faces on the bench. Jordan Taufua, a Canterbury contracted player who has been on loan to Tasman, has been brought back into the squad as loose forward cover while lock Matt Symons also joins the 22.

Canterbury: 15 Tom Taylor, 14 Adam Whitelock, 13 Robbie Fruean, 12 Ryan Crotty, 11 Johnny McNicholl, 10 Tyler Bleyendaal, 9 Andy Elllis, 8 Luke Whitelock, 7 Jed Brown, 6 George Whitelock (c), 5 Dominic Bird, 4 Joel Everson, 3 Paea Fa'aunu, 2 Ben Funnell, 1 Wyatt Crockett.
Replacements: 16 Codie Taylor, 17 Joe Moody, 18 Matt Symons, 19 Jordan Taufua, 20 Willi Heinz, 21 Telusa Veainu, 22 Stephen Gee.
