Frustrated: Simon Easterby

Scarlets head coach Simon Easterby lamented his side's errors and inaccuracy during Saturday's 14-6 defeat to Glasgow Warriors at Scotstoun.

The loss effectively ended the West Wales region's hopes of a PRO12 play-off spot, and the former Ireland international says his side must now turn their attentions to securing a European spot for next season.

The format of the Heineken Cup's replacement has yet to be finalised, but it is generally accepted that the top seven teams from the PRO12 will qualify for the premier tournament.

Edinburgh are hot on the Scarlets' heels, and with games in hand, while the Dragons and Connacht also aim to push for inclusion.

"We are disappointed. It wasn't the performance we wanted to put together against a good Glasgow side," Easterby told the South Wales Evening Post.

"We never really got over the gainline and when you are defending for that long and are without the ball for that long, it is always going to be difficult to win a game."

"We stayed in it, we stuck at it, but we were too inaccurate."

Easterby admitted his side's chances of a play-off spot were all-but over.

"Yes, it is going to be difficult," added Easterby.
