Immediate departure: Michael Bradley
Incumbent Edinburgh head and assistant coaches Michael Bradley and Neil Back have left their posts with immediate effect
Bradley and Back having agreed terms to bring their contracts to an early end - Bradley's was due to expire this May, and Back the following season.
Bradley famous lead Edinburgh to the Heineken Cup semi-finals last season, the first time a Scottish side has ever reached the last four of the competition.
Scotland assistant coaches Stevie Scott and Duncan Hodge have been appointed as interim coaches. Scott and Hodge remain committed to the Six Nations campaign, and will take the reins as head and assistant coach of the capital club after the competition's conclusion.
"We feel this move is necessary to give a fresh impetus to the squad going into the remainder of the season," said Scottish Rugby Chief Executive Mark Dodson
"Our search for a new coaching team for Edinburgh Rugby continues, with a view to getting the club back on a winning track."
"I'd like to thank Michael and Neil for all of their input and wish them the very best in the future," said Edinburgh managing director, Craig Docherty.
"It's heartening to welcome the appointment of two former Edinburgh and Scotland internationalists to our back-room on an interim basis.
"I believe they are the right people to inspire our squad for the remainder of the season and assess the player group going forward."
"I'm delighted to be given this opportunity for the rest of the season," said Edinburgh interim head coach, Stevie Scott.
"Naturally the big thing for me at the moment is my commitment to the national team but, come a week on Saturday night in Paris, I'll be straight into Edinburgh mode and will be working with Duncan [Hodge] to get the players ready for the home match against Ulster and the rest of the season."

Melkdave.... yet another clueless post from you, especially when it comes to anything regarding Scotland. Like many fans of Scottish rugby I'm glad to see the back of these two.

Atg77, Don't see that the nationality of the coach is remotely relevant. All professional coaches, like anyone who has a job, are career oriented. What is important is that a coach understands the strengths and weaknesses of the squad and how to mitigate them.

melkdave - in fact Scotland have some very promising coaches and I feel that is the right way to go. Glasgow are built as a close group under Lineen and Townsend. We just lost an excellent coach in Chalmers. Shade Munro is doing a top job, Redpath may be worth a punt, Carl Hogg is a respected dark horse. Scott Murray is early days but hopefully will come through. George Graham is a bit of a loose cannon but getting results at club level. If we could just get a decent ground and a team ethic like Glasgow we would be right up there. Long way to go though.

Personnally i would have thought they'ed give Bradley and Co another year or 2 ,to prove themselves.Yes i know Edinburgh this year have been absolutly dreadfull.Whilst last years herorics in the HC,have now been shown to be a fluck.Coursed i expect by Edinburgh being in a very easy group.,and why it needs a major overhual,with qualification on merit only.So it never happens again.As to coaches to replace them ,i just dont know if Scotland has any of the requsit class,except for maybe F.Hadden ??

I think it's really important we get an actual Scottish coach this time, otherwise all we'll end up with is another career-coach like Bradley who is more interested in personal success than helping the development of Scottish players and the Scottish game.
