Botha linked with Toulon

BJ Botha of Munster charge

Wanted: BJ Botha

Munster prop BJ Botha is set to sign a two-year deal with mega-spending Toulon this week according to reports in France.

The former South Africa prop would join an already impressive front-row roster at Toulon, including Andrew Sheridan, Gethin Jenkins and Carl Hayman with Martin Castrogiovanni and John Smit also heavily linked with moves to the south of France.

Botha joined Munster from Ulster at the start of the 2011/2012 season but could complete his move to Toulon by the end of the week according to L'Equipe.

The 33-year old was capped 26 times by South Africa after making his debut against the All Blacks in Pretoria in 2006. Botha last played for the Sprinboks against Australia in the Tri Nations game played in Brisbane in July 2010.

Toulon Mission Statement: "we are focused on spotting leading submerging talents and nurturing them to achieve what is well within themselves in the easiest of environments with all creature comforts and a juicy great retirement package."

Who hasnt been linked with Toulon?? I wouldn't really believe anything in L'Equipe but who knows. Can't see why they'd want him though given the players they already have

@APV1

Yeah, I know what you mean, so much quality at 3 as well. Maybe some are moving on? Still seems like a waste, they could spend it on an area they're weak in, like...well...I'll get back to you on that one...

I do find it funny how Toulon have basically become a 2007 world cup final party. I count 7 in: Wilkinson, Sheridan, Shaw, Smit, Habana, Botha, Rossouw. Heck, they've even had Sackey in their time so that makes 8. Have I missed anyone? So a world cup final first five! They'll probably be after François Steyn and JP Pietersen next, I think practically everyone else has retired.

How many props does Toulon need? Most of those in the squad are unlikely to be called up for test duty, so why so many?
