Michael Bradley: Desperate for a win

Edinburgh director of rugby Michael Bradley admits that he is feeling the pressure after his team's poor start to the season.

They go into Friday's PRO12 clash with the Scarlets at Murrayfield on the back of successive Heineken defeats to Saracens and Munster in which they conceded 78 points to nil.

And prior to that they also lost three PRO12 matches on the trot against Leinster, the Dragons and Treviso.

Bradley is aware that the losing streak has to end soon to ease the pressure on him.

"As the head coach I do feel pressure at the moment but I take solace in the fact that I believe in this squad," he told Scotland's STV television network.

"I believe in their character and I believe in the management that we have.

"I'm quite willing to take the pressure until we produce what we can produce."

He said it was crucial for the team to beat the Scarlets and to then build on that result.

"It's difficult for everybody to handle defeats on the bounce like that," explained Bradley.

"The process is to find out why this has happened and then making sure it doesn't happen again.

"It's about continuous improvement, continuous investigation into what's going on.

"We need to get a win very quickly and that'll break the series of losses but still understand we haven't done out work correctly in previous weeks."

Well its fairly simple whats gone wrong. This year the running lines are pedicable and passes are being made 3-4 mtrs before the gain line, allowing defenders to make the tackles, also wheres the offloading we saw last year ,its non exsistent at present,Coupled with the fact defenses are comming up alot faster this year ,cutting down on space and time for players to work the ball.In the forwards there are alot of injuries to props atm in Scotland ,and R.Ford imo ,is outof form ,his lineoutthrowing is very bad ,and his loose work not good either atm,So wining usable ball is a problem .Theres the main reasons ,imoAlso maybe the players just didnt have belief in themselves in the HC ,they did after all finish last season poorly ,and questions have been asked by many including those in rugby establishments ,as to their merit on qualification.
