7th defeat: Edinburgh's woes continue

Edinburgh suffered their seventh straight Pro12 League defeat after losing 29-15 at home to the Dragons on Friday.

Wing Tonderai Chavhanga was the star of the show in Scotland with two well-taken tries.

Harry Leonard's penalty opened the scoring for Edinburgh after the Dragons were penalised for being off-side. The Dragons replied in quick fashion through Tonderai Chavhanga's try. A deft chip was well collected by the South African speedster to score.

Jones and Leonard exchanged penalties before Chavhanga's blistering pace saw him score his second try of the night. Jones' conversion took the Dragons into a well-deserved 17-6 lead.

A fine break from Matt Scott resulted in Dragons number eight Darren Waters cynically slow the ball down with Edinburgh close to the try-line, giving referee John Lacey no choice but to yellow card him.

Leonard continued to punish the Welsh side when two more penalties reduced the deficit to 17-12. Two further Jones penalties gave the visitors a 23-12 half-time lead. Leonard's fifth successful penalty of the night drew the score closer to 23-15.

Edinburgh's high penalty count was again detrimental as replacement Lewis Robling made no mistake kicking two penalties in quick succession to take the score to 29-15 with under 10 minutes remaining.

The Dragons defence remained resilient till the end of the game and were able to win back to back games for the first time since 2006.

The defeat sees Edinburgh without a win in their last eight Pro12 matches.
