Connacht beat bottom-of-the-table Aironi 11-6 as the Italians suffered their 17th successive Magners League defeat of the season.
Fly-half Ian Keatley scored all of Connacht's points, bagging the only try of the match and added a brace of penalties but also missed four other kicks including the conversion on the stroke of half-time.
As for the visitors, after 65 scoreless minutes Aironi grabbed their first points of the night with a Tito Tebaldi penalty by which time they were already 11-0 down.
Tebaldi added a second penalty five minutes before full-time but despite moving within five points of the hosts, Aironi were unable to deny the Irish province a sixth victory of the season.
