Cheetahs fly-half Johan Goosen has reportedly made a trip to France to explore the possibility of furthering his rugby career in the Top 14.
According to a report on the Volksblad website, the 21-year-old is believed to be visiting Racing Metro as a possible replacement pivot for Ireland and Lions number 10 Jonny Sexton.
There has been speculation that the Irish Rugby Football Union could try to lure Sexton back to Ireland after this season despite him being in the first year of a two-year contract with the Parisian-based outfit.
Goosen was recently linked to Heineken Cup champions Toulon, while the Bulls and several Japanese clubs are also keen on the Springbok.
The Cheetahs have Goosen under contract until the end of October and it's unlikely the Bloemfontein-based outfit will allow him to leave before then.
Interested parties are only allowed to officially negotiate with players 120 days - July 1 in Goosen's case - prior to the ending of their contract.
