Rib injury: Luke Romano

The Crusaders are sweating over the availability of their All Black lock Luke Romano after suffering what's believed to be a serious rib injury.

Romano was forced off the pitch early in his side's 34-15 loss to the Blues at Eden Park on Friday, and Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder says he's not hopeful of a positive result.

"Well I don't really know so I can't say too much, but it would seem serious for him to come off," he said.

"When we get back to Christchurch, Luke's going to go have a scan so we'll know then."
