Actually he grew up in Tok, my mate knows him quite well.

But NZ is a generous country (confirmed as top givers to charity w/wide) so you can have him, we'll give you a coach as well and even have a referee blow your way in a rugby 1/4 final.. but please please keep those idiots from the GC, they are helping to improve both countries.

Oh... "You should have a chat to Cooper, it'll surprise you how much he hates NZ (in a sporting context) and that was prior to the WC ! "

Have done and he's a proud Kiwi.. it's just a job was what he said.. hence why he was thinking about playing league with a hope to making the Kiwis.

"He just happens to live there now."

He grew up here, went to school here, played Australian school boys ??

His parents moved over before he started high school. Maybe the TV show is about them, what would Cooper know about NZ?

You do know that what you see or hear on TV may not be real? Tony Brown played for a Maori team LOL !

You should have a chat to Cooper, it'll surprise you how much he hates NZ (in a sporting context) and that was prior to the WC !

Kiwilad:

Rugby is your only sport ! And the niggle with McCheat started when he KICKED Cooper, then Cooper shoved him after Australia beat them in HK. I know as a kiwi it would be very hard to see this, so I'm not going to link the video yet again (have a look at pervious posts for the link if you're not a cyclopes kiwi.)

On the flip side, although McCaw does "bend the rules" he is still he is still treated with respect here, and not spit on, as he is a talented rugby player at the end of the day.

Cooper is a (cough) Quenslander; he's been mentioned in NZ media for a celebrity role in a tv series about NZ Maori who have moved to the Gold Coast.

He just happens to live there now.

Hope to see him back, provides plenty of entertainment.

Trinats2, Rugby in NZ is the number one sport, your adopted son Quade took it upon himself (with no Aus player, management or coach stopping him) to put cheap shot after cheap shot into one of our favourite sons, Richie McCaw.

How would you expect him to be treated/thought of here?

As for his form ,I seriously wonder if the man, who showed himself to be cowardly, has the mental capacity to dig himself out of the hole he has dug for himself.

Tri-harder

Mate I sincerely hope you right and that his consistency improves, if so then completely agree that will hold Aus in good stead.

Wally:

Both Barnes and Cooper are Queenslanders, But I can see your fondness for Barnes as he plays for Tahs. They both are very skilled, but Cooper has that extra spark to break the gain line and unpredictability that he brings to the game is such a positive. He is still only 24, give him another 3-4 years and he will win back Bill. The reds for the past 4 years have got better each year and it's no conincedence that Cooper is part of it.

some pretty ordinary comments, im interested why you lads hate him so much, i wouldnt expect love but some of you sound pretty troubled

Wallaroo says...

Sorry Titnats, as far as I'm concerned Cooper is always a liability not only does he blow hot and cold between games he can do this between stops and starts in games. Can't deny that Cooper has been responsible for some of the most exceptional plays in the business but he has also been responsible for some of the most brainless actions. While Barnes is less dynamic and creative he is by far and away more consistent.

Although I'm not a major fan, I have to agree with Graham Henry that Cooper brought a lot of the abuse he copped on himself.

In conclusion Cooper has moments of 100% and periods of 20% which makes him 80% unreliable.

Haha training form..

My mate who plays for SURF in Tok reckons the rumour is Quade was trying to steal the laptop because there was compromising footage of him "experimenting"..

Interesting story and explains his fondness of Brisbane.

* Trinats - Did u hear Cooper wants 2 play for the kiwi league team?? We still wouldn't pick him but it shows his true colours - hes a NZ Maori

Trinats2, His 2nd best is better than anyone elses best???

@tha_mai, Do you not think its a typo or misquote? I think that its far more likely that Ewan Mckenzie said "Even when he goes out there and is 100 per cent, he's not much value."

Posted 15:21 03rd May 2012

tha_mai says...

was Mckenzie talking about Cooper's knee?: "It goes up and down. It's not an exact science"

and this one may come back and bite him: "Unless he goes out there and is 100 per cent, he's not much value."

Nothing has changed.

His second best is far better than away one else's best !

He has been running out in training for the past few weeks. He would be first choice in my team even just from his training form.

its been a pretty quick recovery, obviously its going to take another 10 months to a year to get back to his best though
