@ Number8... if the Eurozone implodes as many think it must, you may get your wish sooner than you think. Who knows, if enough NH clubs go broke & their imports return home, the 3N may have enough players to sustain 6 teams each - obviously any left-over saffas & kiwis would have to go to Melbourne, but you get the drift :-)

Apologies up front to Messers Page & Plant...

There are people so sore

The boks got shown the door

They've taken to the internet raving

"Nail the refs hide to the wall,

'cos he was crooked for sure"

While Smit & P-divvy go blame-free

Yes to have so much ball, yet be unable to score

I can see how how that must truly be galling

But it makes me wonder...

Was it no cover for Brussouw or Smit in your front row

Or was kicking for touch not for goal the worst thing?

So many chances to win but in the long run

They couldnt even set up for the lazy three...

A work in progress, haven't worked out what comes between the epic guitar solo & the final verse. I'd like to keep the line about "the truth will come to you at last" but it'd probably go right over the heads of the assorted something-bok & bok-whatever's on here (@ zambokke being the latest though by no means the worst).

SANZAR needs South Africa. SARU should tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine and join Europe.

Zambokke, how did you feel when reviewing the 1995 semi final vs France?

I watched the Aussie v SA game again in the cold light of day last week as objectively as I could possibly could. Although I hate to admit it, I came over all Bok Van Dam and am now part of the bitter and twisted club. I also watched the final again over 4 hours - rewind , replay etc and I have to say that fortune (?) was smiling down on the ABs that day. I won't become all Bok Van Dam by commenting on 1987, but empithise with his basic grievances. I am sure that many Bok fans also have empathy but just don't want to side with such an angry wind up king.

BVD - if you despise the RWC so much - due to its obvious corruption, bias and illegalities - why do you continue to watch it and comment? I appreciate that you love the game of rugby, as we all do in our own peculiar manner. But to hold the RWC in such low esteem and care so little for the manner in which it's officiated and organised, why not give it a miss? With satellite tv, it's now possible to watch rugby from all over the world, almost all year round. And that's at club and international level. Why not limit yourself to the competitions you think are fair and not corrupt and save yourself the torment.

I just care about your heath and wealfare. With all that hatred and bile, you may end up with an ulcer. And I've heard that they're really painful.

Just so that I know, which tournaments and / or competitions are fair and not corrupt and which are? Just so I know whether we're being given a fair go. I was really pleased to watch Bath beat Exeter at the weekend and England beat Scotland. Was that because of the players or corruption? Did the refs have instructions, or were they officiating to the best of their abilities? I'd like to know whether my teams are in corrupt competitions with cheating officials, or whether the results are trustworthy.

Thanks BVD, your insight is invaluable!

Number 8 We have a Super 15 competition set up and there are contracts that need to be honoured or the parts of SANZAR will be hit with some pretty heavy bills for breaking contracts. However you make some good points and I understand exactly where you are coming from. I have often said that the weak Australian RFU can not mount an internal Rugby tournament of their own as the AFL and NRL squeeze them out. They need the Super15 so they can swing off the revenue that it brings in for the ARU. We all know that the conference system is unfairly biased to the Australian teams but if we wish to see rugby develop in Oz then it is something we have to cop. It does not however allow development in either SA or NZ as we must continue to prop up the Australian teams who are have so many others playing for them. I do not believe NZ would want or would be able to add another team to the Super competition bur would not be so arrogant as to say there should not be another South African team. Where though do Argentina and the Pacific Islands fall. Much work has to be done and it concerns me South Africa have fallen into this hole and I still wonder why they promised the Kings a place before details had been worked through. As many on this site have posted where do the spectators go it has been hard enough in NZ to get support for the franchises which cut across Provincial borders without going through it all again. All I know is there is a problem here and South Africa will have to work it out.

Editor I believe this article is about a super rugby franchise being axed and is not about RWC being rigged etc. A number of my letters have not been printed because of some reason you have found to ban them. Yet here we have this monotonous attack day after day on the IRB, New Zealand and International Referees. Many posts claiming corruption rigging, cheating and other underhand accusations. They are repeated ad nauseum without any proof apart form what the writer believes in his own mind. Now it is turning up in articles which have nothing to do with RWC and it should be knocked on the head. I for one would like to see some views of other readers of the situation others see as important in this argument over the axing of a Super team not rehashed views about RWC which we have read before again and again and again. I have been asked to keep to the point in my replies to people who post on here and I would suggest that if the writer of these siege mentality posts be asked to keep to the point of the article or stop printing those which have no relevance to the article that is printed. I know you like me are fed up with the continued diatribe but the power is in your hands. It has been used before and I am left wondering why you have not used it in terms of the posts which have nothing to do with this thread.

@ rohan1992... only everyone not still in denial as to the real reasons SA exited the Cup and/or think 5 (number of RWC attended by SA) is half of 7 (number of RWC held). Which is kinda ironic in its own right, I think!

@ justice_4_all... looks logical on paper & the trial match would be an absolute ripper, but would the fans buy it? Would 20,000 rock up to Ellis Park or Loftus in their Lions or Bulls supporters gear in protest? Or, worse, not rock up at all?

hayj05 - it's a known fact that you can't get poisoned from SOUR GRAPES. It must really hurt you sheep lovers that we have won as many world cups in half the time as you lot. Pity both your wins have been tainted though - in '87 we weren't there and in 2011...well, everyone knows how that tournament was RIGGED.

This decision must be extremely worrying for the current SA franchises both on the playing field and in financial terms.. How on earth can a governing body allow such a situation to arise. It would seem to me that surely there would be a plan in place for the Kings to follow before they were promised entry. It is no good saying hey we will just ask for the competition to be increased to 16 and ask others to agree. The difficulty of making sure you have a viable franchise and the way in which whichever franchise is destroyed to make way means unemployment loss of revenue and assets all because the management of SA rugby is in the hands of idiots. How on earth could the SARFU allow such a debacle to arise. I shake my head and say these types of decisions cause more disharmony than anything else. SARFU should take themselves before their judiciary for bringing the game into disrepute.

You're a Broken record aren't you BokVanDam, Go give mummy a cuddle & let the real men talk about Rugby. Guess what the 95 AB's team were posioned, whether it was intentional or not, half the side shouldn't of been playing that game. I know as a Bok fan that must be very hard to contemplate. And no it's not the Kiwis that go on about the Gold Watch it's the French, you know the French that were guided through the 07 QF by Wayne Barnes.... What goes around comes around my Friend.... I mean Foe.

isthatrightref - kiwis have been bleating on about '95 poisoning and gold watches for years. The fact remains that the only team who had a try disallowed in that final was the Boks and we won fair and square in extra time. By contrast NZ won with blatant refereeing bias. France should have won that final, but Craig Joubert no doubt under instructions from Paddy O'Brien, reffed them right out of the game

Please go back to 12 teams, possibly add a team or two from Argentina in the future. As things stand now we have a dumb system anyway. The Kings will be a joke and bring further humiliation to SARU. IMO why not let Kings merge with the Sharks, with the the new franchise playing a third of their home games in PE and the two thrids of their home games in Durban. Since I don't like the Sharks and and EP rugby this makes perfect sense to me.

@ BVD... for what it's worth I reckon the '95 Cup was no more rigged than the '11 (interpret that anyway you like) but to mis-paraphrase Billy Connelly, as long as you keep sh1tt1ng in my RWC I will keep p1ss1ng in yours.

Reading the article again it would appear that at least Peters & Roux are reading the same book albeit different chapters: Roux has jumped ahead to the big finale while Peters is still working his way through the boring-but-neccesary plot and Alexander is waiting for the DVD to come out.
