Leicester Tigers and England prop Dan Cole is set for six months out of the game after neck surgery, according to reports.
The Leicester Mercury state that the England and Lions tighthead will undergo an operation early next week to correct the issue.
Cole hasn't played for Leicester since facing Ulster in the Heineken Cup back in January, but did appear for England in the Six Nations.
The initial approach to treating the trapped nerve caused by a bulging disc in his neck was to rest, but now surgery is required.
Leicester have coped in his absence through Logovi'i Mulipola, while a short-term injury replacement option for Cole is also reportedly being considered.
England will travel to New Zealand next month without Cole, with David Wilson and Henry Thomas their first choices at tighthead prop.
