Pisi hails Saints' togetherness

George Pisi Northampton Saints 2014

Winning score: George Pisi

George Pisi believes Northampton Saints have grown this season as they moved to the top of the Aviva Premiership.

Saints lost out to Leicester Tigers at the end of last season in dramatic fashion but have strengthened their squad and now look set for a spot in the playoffs.

Pisi struck just at the right time with his late try to snatch the result away from Exeter, who were nearly at full strength, making Northampton's 17-16 win with several players away on international duty even more impressive.

"That win (at Exeter) shows the togetherness that we have as a team," Pisi told the Northampton Chronicle and Echo.

"Everyone's playing for each other and we've come a long way this season.

"As a team we're playing for each other and playing for positions. When you win, you're happy.

"Winning is why you play rugby and if we keep this momentum going we'll be a tough team to beat.

"A team like Worcester that's really desperate is a hard team to beat and especially playing at home we can't give them a sniff.

"It's an opportunity for us to play for the fans again. We didn't play that well against Saracens so it's an opportunity for us to go out there and give a good performance."
