Anthony Watson Bath 2013

Hot prospect: Anthony Watson

Bath head coach Mike Ford has hailed winger Anthony Watson as the man capable of solving England's problems out wide for the Six Nations.

19-year-old Watson won praise aplenty after scoring a try in his side's 27-27 Premiership draw with Leicester Tigers on Sunday.

And with injury ruling out much-vaunted speedsters Marland Yarde and Christian Wade, while Chris Ashton continues to struggle for form, Ford believes Watson must be in serious contention for a Test start.

Indeed, the Bath boss revealed he had spoken with England head coach Stuart Lancaster about the young prodigy.

"Stuart has talked to me about (Watson) playing wing and that was the best he's played all year, without a question," said Ford.

"It was against a serious side away from home, so that's very promising.

"An international wing finishes those chances and he did that. On that performance he's ready to play for England.

"His main attribute is attitude. He'll keep his feet on the ground and will try to get better."
