London Wasps director of rugby Dai Young believes that the new scrum laws will make the game a better contest.
The former Wales and Lions prop knows a thing or two about scrumming and looked carefully at this aspect of the game last weekend, when English rugby got its first taste of the new laws.
"I don't think anyone can suggest that it wasn't an improvement on last season. We may not be where we want to be but it was certainly an improvement," Youngs told Bucks Free Press.
"Everybody needs a little bit of time to adjust to it.
"It's a work in progress and we've got to support it rather than knock it. It's early days, but hopefully we'll get more of a spectacle. I do think it was a better contest than it was last year."
