Saracens v Cardiff Blues Adam Powell Owen Williams

Moving on: Adam Powell

Saracens have agreed to release Adam Powell to Championship side Newcastle with immediate effect.

The talented inside centre, 26, has made 135 appearances for the north London club over the past eight seasons, and has decided to embrace a new challenge with Dean Richards' Falcons.

"We have watched Adam develop over the years, and he has proved an outstanding, courageous and loyal young man. We are very sorry to see him leave and he will always be welcome and respected at our club, but we wish him the best of luck in the future, and there is no doubt he will prove a great asset for the Falcons," said Saracens chairman Nigel Wray.

Powell added: "I've had a great time at Saracens and will always wish the club well, but I'm really excited by what is happening at Newcastle under Dean Richards and I can't wait to get started."
