Bath v Gloucester Darren Dawidiuk sent off

Shown red: Darren Dawidiuk

Gloucester forwards Tukulua Lokotui and Darren Dawidiuk are both facing suspensions for dangerous tackles during Friday's Aviva Premiership West Country defeat to rivals Bath.

Lokotui has been cited for an alleged tip tackle on second-row Dave Attwood during the highly-charged league fixture at the Recreation Ground.

Meanwhile, hooker Dawidiuk was summoned after being sent off for an alleged tip tackle on the same player in the narrow 31-25 defeat.

The cases for both players will be heard at the Royal Courts of Justice in London on Monday, where the RFU's disciplinary panel will be chaired by His Honour Judge Jeff Blackett.

@ Frooschman - in fairness I have only seen clips of it and it looked to me like they'd not only tipped him, but driven him into the turf.

And I think the Earth must have tilted on its axis a little - I'm defending Tigers and you're defending Glaws..!

Jeez, I must have been watching a different tackle to you guys cause I wouldn't have even carded them. How you can call for six weeks for that is beyond me???

And this is a Bath ST holder defending Gloucestermen ... now if you'll excuse me I have go shower.

@ Josskaman - did you watch it, or are you just spouting nonsense?

There is a huge difference between Flood's and this incident. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Bath fan, so defending a Tigers player doesn't come easily, but it was no-where near the same.

I agree that about 6 weeks each would be about right.

But, as we all know, the panel lives in La-La Land, so goodness knows what the outcome will be.

Rubbish Josskaman - Flood's perfectly good tackle on Andy Goode was turned into a tip accidentally by another Worcester player, at which point Flood's hand was stuck between players. If he was to be banned then the Worcester player would also have to be banned too!

Conversely, at least one of Dawidiuk and Lokotui set out to really hurt Attwood and should really get a minimum of 12 weeks but because we'll never know who, 6 weeks each is a fair compromise. For the second dirtiest team in the league, it's thoroughly deserved.

It was actually the same tackle. Very similar to the Toby flood tip tackle about a month ago, as a current England player he got let off Scott free, so he could play 6n. so I would expect both these players to get a 6 week ban,

According to lewis Moody as an espn pundit, he would have red carded both of them, both players tackled one of at woods legs at the same time.
