Tigers focus from Flood

Tigers duty: Toby Flood

Leicester number ten Toby Flood has revealed he is "not fussed" about an England recall as he looks to create some festive cheer at the Tigers.

Flood missed out on the victory over New Zealand this month because of a toe injury, with Owen Farrell putting in a strong performance in white.

That could mean the Saracen keeps his jersey for their Six Nations opener but Flood, who kicked 11 points as Leicester beat London Irish 31-9 on Saturday, said he's not fazed about that right now.

"It was a hugely envious position for me because those guys went out there and beat the All Blacks, which is something I've never done," he told the Daily Telegraph.

"But I'm not fussed about the international side of things right now. We've got a really tough Christmas to consider and for me it's just a case of bedding back down into the side.

"My big aim at the moment is hopefully to get a bit form and feel confident going into our final two Heineken Cup group games against Ospreys and Toulouse."

@TVaddict

Took the words clean out of my mouth, couldn't have worded it any better myself, Flood has had +50 Caps to confirm whether he is World Class or not and he is NOT!!!!!

At this present moment in time we should focus on the future and get Farrell and Burns as much international exposure as possible. Yeh 10 shirt for Burns for the Scotland game and see where he goes from there

Very average player all round. Decent distribution, kicking percentages, running, etc... but not great or world class at anything. You can rely on him to do his job, but you can't win a game based on him.

For me the fly-halfs for the 6 nations are Burns and Farrell. Longer term Ford will hopefully be competing with them too. Farrell has his world class defence and nerveless kicking, and Burns has his creativity, speed, distribution, place kicking, tactical kicking...Burns has it all really, let's give him the starting 10 shirt against Scotland...
