Lee Thomas is hungry to make up for lost time after returning from a knee injury to make his Premiership debut for Wasps at Adams Park last Sunday.
The 28-year-old, who suffered a medial ligament injury the day before the opener against Quins, performed well against London Welsh last week.
And the former Sale Shark is delighted to be back and hopes his performance earned him some plaudits among his new team-mates at Wasps.
"When you arrive at a new club you want to get out on the pitch as soon as possible to show everyone what you're all about," he said.
"But picking up the medial ligament problem the day before the Quins match meant I was forced to watch on from the sidelines in the first few games.
"Getting my first Premiership start under my belt last weekend was a good feeling and to get the win as well was great.
"There's a lot of competition in the centres at the club this season which is fantastic, everyone is pushing hard and you have to be ready to take your chance when it comes along.
"The drop goal I got was the last kick of the first half so it was a bonus really and long-distance penalties have always been a part of my game so I was pleased to get the nod for that but we've got a lot of talented kickers at the club.
"Last year we didn't have anything like this strength in depth and with a whole load of games across three different competitions it is vital that we can rest players.
"It is fantastic to be able to change players, not just in the centres but in every position across the park."
Wasps' recent victory starred a combined four-try effort from wingers Christian Wade and Tom Varndell, with Thomas admitting he is loving playing with such speed outside him.
"To be a centre with that sort of talent and sheer pace outside you is just fantastic," he added.
"It is our job to create that little bit of space for them because we know that once they have that they can be deadly and punish any team.
"But we all know that on top of that it is vital that we do the basics well at all times or else we will struggle."
