Calum Clark and Northampton should just walk away from this situation. I mean he's gotten off lightly in many peoples eyes. Hopefully Hawkins makes a full recovery because if he can't get back to full fitness because of the injury he could and should get compensation which will end up in court.

An appeal would only 'reopen the wound' - it would be better for the Saints to simply let it rest.... and acknowledge that yer man, Clarke, received what he deserved.

Wouldn't surprise me if Northampton appealed, they are a club of dirty players. Clark, Ashton, Hartley, all in front of the beak in recent times.

I'm a Saints fan and hope they don't appeal. The club has attracted some unwanted attention recently and this won't help. Clarke deserves his punishment in my opinion.

And the club has plenty of good back row cover (although Tom Wood is now injured again) and we won't miss Clarke in my opinion. He should see out his ban and keep quiet about it.

I hope they dont appeal - will tarnish their reputation even more in my opinion - should feel very lucky he is only banned for 32 weeks and part of that covers the close season - presumably he can still train in that time? This has certainly put me off Saints and they were also a good team to watch for neutral supporters (although I am a born Gloucester fan).
