UNION CHALLENGE CUP Helu Will Wasps Bath

Wasps: Gunning for a place in Europe

The play-offs for the final berth in next season's newly-created European Rugby Champions Cup will take place on 17 and 24 May.

The seventh-highest finishing clubs from Top 14 and the Premiership will face off in a two-leg showdown for a place in Europe's top club competition.

The draw to determine the order of the matches will take place when the English club is officially known - which will either be on Saturday or 12 May, depending on the results over the next fortnight.

London Wasps, who host Newcastle on Saturday, currently lie in seventh place, four points clear of Exeter, who face Harlequins on Sunday.

The French participant will be know this weekend following the final round of the Top 14 regular season. Stade Franšais are currently seventh, five points clear of Bordeaux-Begles, but the Parisians must visit Toulon on Saturday while UBB are at home to relegated Biarritz.

The Heineken Cup Final will also be played on 24 May.
