A. Strauss is vice-captain. Great decision by H.Meyer. He is big news player. Sudddenly M.Steyn looks like out of sort kind of player in the dangerous Springboks team.

haha cant help but laugh that the wallabies and deans get the most relentless scrutiny for, effectively, being the second best rugby nation on earth yet meyer and the springboks escape it all even though they are in danger of breaking the tri nations dominance on world rugby. they are going to get a rude shock when the AB's come to town and vice versa
bloemboy -- fair calls. not sure why you are even thinking about dagg though they are playing the pumas, not losing to them would be a start.

Agree with Bloemboy, 100%.
We must get rid of Steyn and Kirchener, the sooner, the better. Contesting balls at breakdown is an issue, now that BdP and Brussow are unavailable.

I think that the weak links are still the fact that we have no one to secure ground ball. With Bizmark out and Keegan dropped, we are looking very thin. Solution: Brussouw / Kolisi / Daniel in that order depending on fitness. Vermeulen, Burger, Smith all good loosies and I pity the selectors once all are fit.
Flyhalf is still a concern for me and I am very excited to see Goosen back to fitness. Steyn had one good game where he suffered little pressure. He still doesnt know how to put away an excellent backline or vary the game by using different options. He is normally pretty good at what he does, no more and no less. Fact is that everyone knows what he does and as long as the opposition play to the percentages, he is easily mitigated. Solution: Goosen / Lambie / Jantjies in that order.
Kirchner is probably the greatest worry and Dagg is going to have a field day with him. christmas for Dagg must be an endless supply of balls kicked down his throat and acres of space. (wince) Solution: Pieterson / Ludick / Le Roux / Lambie (if Goosen is at 10) / Aplon not necessarily in that order.

So HM and co feel the answer is to have more wieght thus a bigger pack, rather than actually use a fetcher,to solve the bokke breakdown problems. Some how i cant see it myself. It might allow the bokke to get a bit futher over the gain line while carrying the ball,,But it doesnt stop the pumas from turning them over like they did in the 2nd half last weekend..So far i have to say ive been disappointed in HM ,he just trys the same old gameplan ,and hasnt moved SA rugby forward in any way at all imo.No invention ,no creativity, and no imagination ,just try and bulldozer your way through and if it fails hoof it high, chase and hope.

Potgieter - another HM/Bull's cronie!!! So who is the ball fetcher? Pumas are going to force even more turnovers!

I think its a solid side especially with Alberts at 8, he should`ve been playing 8 from the start of his bok career. I would say that him & Potgieter will be the ones taking the ball up and not Coetzee like he has been for the last few tests. Coetzee work rate second to none but a tad small so his ground work will have to improve.

Uspectacularly solid, I feel they will still have the Puma's measure.

This Bok side is starting to look more like the 3rd stringers, journeymen and old geezers they send over to the Antipodes for Tri nations during WC years.
Next thing they will be telling us that they actually expect to win against the AB's with this rabble.

But of course he will!
And they HAD to try something new with the pumas maul - they were unstoabull last weekend, so power is necessary.
one must not forget, that the SCHALK is unavailable, too.
