Perpignan s fly half Sofiane Guitoune leaves the pitch after being injured

Season over: Sofiane Guitoune

France's Six Nations ambitions were dealt a further blow on Sunday with the news that winger Sofiane Guitoune's season is over.

The Perpignan speedster, who started at fly-half against Gloucester in Sunday's Heineken Cup clash at Stade Aimé Giral, will undergo surgery on Monday after sustaining a partially ruptured tendon.

Perpignan manager Marc Delpoux confirmed that the 24-year-old will not play again this season.

The news of Guitoune's injury came just hours after Toulouse confirmed that France skipper Thierry Dusautoir is facing three to four months on the sidelines with a biceps injury.
