England skipper: Chris Robshaw

Chris Robshaw has been reappointed as England captain for this season's Six Nations Championship.

On Friday the Rugby Football Union confirmed via a statement that the Harlequins flanker would retain the role.

It will be his third Six Nations campaign at the helm, with England facing a tough opener against France in Paris on February 1.

Since taking the reins for Head Coach Stuart Lancaster's first game against Scotland in February 2012, the Harlequins skipper has led England in 19 of their last 22 Tests - only missing the third Test in South Africa in June 2012 through injury and last June's series in Argentina, for which he was rested.

"Chris is in the team on merit as a player first and foremost but he has also shown himself to be an outstanding leader for Harlequins and England," said Lancaster.

"He led us well during the QBE Internationals and I have no doubt that, as he goes into his third RBS 6 Nations as captain, he will do likewise."

Robshaw added: "Stuart rang me yesterday and, as with every time he has asked me, it is a great privilege. To lead your country is a massive honour but I am fortunate to have a group of players and leaders who support me in that. We want to kick on from the QBE Internationals and we can't wait for the challenge ahead, starting with a tough away match against France."

Pending fitness following this weekend's Heineken Cup and Amlin Challenge Cup fixtures, the below squad will meet up at Pennyhill Park on Monday, January 20.

Alex Corbisiero and Ben Foden (Northampton Saints), as well as Marland Yarde (London Irish) will also attend camp for assessment and treatment by the England medical team as part of their ongoing recovery from injury.
